Project Location:
The White Cloud Wind Project is located approximately 7 miles southwest of Maryville, Missouri in the highly productive farmland and cattle country of Nodaway County, Missouri.

Project Interconnection:
The White Cloud Wind Project will likely interconnect to the Aquila 161 kV transmission line (Maryville to Midway line) in Nodaway County.

Project Size:
300 MW

Project Turbines:
GE 1.5 MW turbine or similar, subject to final engineering

Landowners and Acreage Involved:
Approximately 200 landowners and a little over 60,000 acres currently represent the White Cloud project area.

Commercial Operation:
White Cloud Wind Project is estimated to be in commercial operation by 2013.

Utility Buyers:
The power produced by White Cloud Wind Project will be sold to Missouri regulated and non-regulated utility companies.

Project Developer:
The developer of the White Cloud Wind Project is TradeWind Energy, LLC (“TradeWind”), which is headquartered in Lenexa, Kansas. The senior managers of TradeWind have over 100 years of combined experience in the independent power development business including acquisitions and project development across the United States, Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean, as well as significant regulated utility experience.

Key Project Attributes:

  1. When completed, the project will produce enough power for approximately 100,000 Missouri homes.
  2. The project is located in the heart of the most energetic wind development region in Missouri.
  3. The project will only take a minimal amount of acreage (1% to 2%) out of service, including land for roads, turbine foundations, and maintenance buildings.
  4. The project is estimated to produce an estimated $1,000,000 in annual landowner payments.
  5. The project will have little or no impact on fire, water, or wastewater infrastructure.
  6. The project will utilize local labor and materials for its construction and operations and will generate significant economic benefits to the local community.
  7. The project, when completed, will offset approximately 900,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year, 3,000 tons of NOx per year, and 4,000 tons of SO2 per year
